Issue #5 - The First Clip

So, here we are, being released for Super Wednesday of YouTube's Geek Week - the first clip of Legion X!

Here we see Drake Dawes at the moment he realises how much his life has been changed. Drake discovers that he has the power to create and fire 'shock-blasts' and increased agility, enabling him to launch himself through the air and land safely.

Drake will go on to become the hero known as Shockwave and join the world's newest team of superhumans fighting the good fight - Legion X!

Issue #4 - First Contact

We've been a little set back in production recently, for various reasons, but fear not! Plans are being drawn at this very moment and we are getting back to work on making this film happen. We still don't have a release date but, provided all goes well, expect it before the end of this year.

Three new names are about to be added to the roster of those who make the world of fantasy the most exciting realm of all!

Issue #3 - The Peril of the Heat Ray

Summer time. That's the hot one. And boy, is it hot!

Heat like this gets a little worrying when you're trying to make a film like Legion X. For a start, while it's as hot as it has been lately (I don't know the exact temperature, but my Andy Thermometer is saying 'UNBEARABLE'), there's absolutely no chance of filming scenes featuring our brave heroes in their full costumes. Why? Well, as you will soon see, Adam's costume in particular is not designed for hot weather! (That's Adam Lawson, playing the character of Hunter, for those of you not yet in the know!)

Today myself and Adam even went out to try to get one or two short, non-super-costume scenes done and found ourselves defeated by the heat. Two hours in a shady underpass later, we realised we probably weren't going to get anything done today.

So, yes. Production is slowing down a little because the weather's too much for us! We shall try to soldier on and do as much as superhumanly possible, but this sort of weather is going to lead to certain restrictions, one way or another. Which makes a project that's already incredibly big and ambitious that much harder to film.

But, pah! It will take more than this insidious sunshine to stop us!

Personally, I suspect it's Dr Doom  with a weather machine...

Issue #2 - Time To Suit Up

Today, it started! It really properly started. It was our first day on the cold, unforgiving streets of Milton Keynes filming Legion X. First days have a knack for being tricky and this one was no different. Everyone's acting as characters they've never been before, this time we were working with equipment only a few of us had used before (and not on something this big), and the camera battery helpfully decided to die on us before we could get everything we wanted filmed today! Oh joy!

But we soldiered on! We became superheroes, we filmed fight scenes, we filmed conversations and an awkward silence that left us all laughing. I put together a first rough edit of some of today's footage and I have got to say... I'm immensely proud of what we managed. This is going to be our toughest project yet, but I can't wait to see the outcome.

Now, I should head to bed - early tomorrow morning, I've got to do it all again! I shall leave you with a collection of pictures from our first day of shooting. Big thanks to Kate for taking these!

Issue #1 - It Begins!

Welcome to the official blog of the upcoming all-new superhero film from HL Productions - Legion X. After the success of last year's Bond film Shoot To Kill, we're moving into new territory as we tackle not only a new genre but brand new characters, bringing this band of heroes and villains to life for the very first time.

Filming begins very, very soon and on this site we'll be bringing you pictures from the set, production blogs and all manner of news leading up to the release of our biggest, most ambitious project yet. I give you my personal guarantee that this blog will be kicking into life in the next few days with updates and info. Spread the word and prepare yourself for a whole new world of heroes.
